⚾ MOJO Baseball Newsletter – Summer 2026 Updates

🏨 Omaha Tournament Lodging (June 18–22) (Action Required)

Out of the 13 families attending Omaha, 4 families indicated a preference for a hotel. Based on that, we will:

• Pay the penalty fee and shift back to VRBO lodging

• Lodging Penalty fee per family: $134.62 (Yet to be billed to you)

Tournament Details:

• Dates: June 18 – June 22 

• Games could start 8am on June 18th. Please Plan to arrive the night of June 17

• Location: Many games will be in or near Council Bluffs, IA and Iowa Western Community College

• We are the only team traveling from Kansas

Recommendation:
I strongly encourage families to book a VRBO/AirBnb/Hotel now. Larger homes shared by multiple families can significantly reduce costs.

🎓 College Showcase Opportunity – Omaha (Action Required)

There is a college showcase with coaches in attendance:

• Date: Saturday, June 20, 2026

• Time: 7:30 AM

• Location: Doc Ross Field – Iowa Western Community College

• Cost: $150

• Capacity: Limited to 100 players (will sell out)

📅 Summer Planning, Showcases & Recruiting (Very Important)

Families and players should begin planning their full summer schedule now, including tournaments, showcases, and academic milestones.

Be sure to account for:

• ACT / SAT test dates

• Recruiting benchmarks

• Where your player sits on our MOJO recruiting timeline

Players can search by school, conference, location, or date and register directly with colleges.

🎥 Veo Video Access (Action Required)

Parents should have received an email from Veo asking you to accept access.

Veo is our AI video solution and will provide game clips players can use for recruiting videos. We are the only team in KC to have this technology.

This is a key tool for recruiting — don’t skip this step.

📬 Recruiting Expectations (Players)

Recruiting is a process—consistency matters.

Weekly Expectations:

• Spend ~3 hours per week on recruiting

• Complete all recruiting questionnaires for schools of interest

• Continue building and updating your target school list

🎥 Video is CRUCIAL
Having video is one of the most important parts of the recruiting process.

Parents: please make sure you are consistently filming games and key moments.

Focus on capturing:

• At-bats

• Defensive plays

• Pitching (if applicable)

• Game-speed reps (not just practice)

Video Expectations:

• Goal: 50+ short recruiting videos by end of season

• Length: ~30 seconds each

• Upload videos to YouTube

• Send links directly to college coaches via:

  • X (Twitter)

  • DM

  • Email

Make sure to include/tag:

• Schools

• Coaches

• Recruiting pages

Communication & Updates to Coaches:

Players should consistently send updates to college programs, including:

• End-of-year grades (academic update)

• Summer schedule

• New/recent video clips

• ACT/SAT scores (when it makes sense to share)

Consistency and communication are key—players who stay organized and proactive will stand out.

Two tournaments may need to be switched due to low team counts. If that happens, each family will need to pay $52.07 extra to cover the difference in PBR tournament fees.

There are several strong ACT prep options available, including:

• Princeton Review

• Kaplan

• Prep Expert

• Other local and online programs

We’ve received a recommendation for both Princeton Review (used by Connor) and another program used by Rene Lopez that is starting soon.
