The first booster meeting of 2012 will be held on Thursday, January 19 at 6:00 p.m. in the old weight room by the
Permian Fieldhouse. The meeting will include discussions about the
Freshmen tryouts. A mandatory player/parent meeting will follow on Tuesday, January 31.
Those student athletes that
hope to play for the Panthers will get their chance on January 27-28.
Eligible players will have the opportunity to show off their baseball skills at
McCanlies Field during the two days of tryouts. The first Mojo scrimmage
is February 10.
It's official - Keenan Mosby
will be heading west to El Paso and Jake Armstrong will travel east to Cisco to
continue their baseball careers on a collegiate level. The two graduating
seniors made their announcement in the Hall of Fame Room at Permian on Tuesday
afternoon.
Was it rumor or motivation -
"No Playoffs... No Banquet." - that proved to be a moot point as Permian
celebrated the achievements of the 2011 season on Monday night. Though the
Panthers were knocked out of the state playoffs in the Bi-District Round, there
were several positives to discuss.
A date has been set for the 2012 Permian baseball try-outs. Those athletes interested in participating will need to bring their most recent report card and physical with them on the first day, January 27.
